Adoption Fee ?
"So to those that insist on making money off of these animals by charging a fee, shame on you. It is repulsive to see ads on this site that require a “small rehoming fee” or “adoption fee.” Shame on you! No matter how you slice it, you are making money off of the buying and selling of animals."

Wow, I just read the first blog from a person who believes that people should not pay a fee for adopting a pet. This is just ridiculous on so many levels! The author obviously needs to do a little research. Unfortunately, too many people think that shelters and rescue organizations are made of money, and should provide free pets to the public. Sorry for the vent here LOL, but the blog's author requires you to register to make comments!
Thanks Jen. I should have said I disagreed with this too. Shelters and rescue groups need all the help they can get.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!! Most of the animal adoption agencies I know of are volunteer driven, and yes, they do spend a ton of money out of pocket to house, feed, spay/neuter, rehab, and provide medical testing and care for these animals! And as a so-called loving responsible pet owner, this guy needs a kick in the butt and should be given the entire bill for the care of an adopted kitty. The cost can run into the $100's for some of these pets, so an adoption donation of $75 or whatever is just a drop in the bucket. His grand solution is that there are plenty of people out there willing to adopt these pets for free? Ok, perhaps he can provide us with a mailing list of all these people who apparently outnumber the number of pets available for adoption! Arghhhh! People like this make me mad.
